Hi, I’m Cherish.
Neuro Clarity Counseling, LLC was created with my intention to support clients seeking to better understand their needs and be empowered to meet each need in realistic and accessible ways.
As a trauma-informed and trauma-sensitive therapist, I practice with an affirming and inclusive lens.
Having lived experience with identifying the different types of supports I needed has been one of the most important aspects of my own therapy. I want to help more people access the same.
Living in a world which doesn’t accommodate for communication differences, sensory needs and much more can be overwhelming and even traumatic. We know from lived experience accounts as well as research Neurodivergent folks are more likely to experience trauma and especially ongoing trauma - leading to developing complex trauma or CPTSD. Helping others navigate the effects of CPTSD is something I am honored to be able to do.
I think we all deserve to know ourselves as best we can to live life as peacefully as we can (within our control) so if this seems like something you want to work toward - I’d be honored to support you along the way.
So, what can you expect if you work with me?
I use humor as a way to process information and as a coping mechanism.
My therapy style is casual and conversational.
I will get to know you gradually.
Once we have established a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship we will work together to determine when you are ready to be challenged.
I am mindful of the fact trauma work, working through burnout and recognizing the way we operate takes a lot out of a person so I check in to make sure we pace therapy appropriately.
I am eclectic in my approach.
This means we work together to determine which parts of different types of therapy may work best for you, then take what works and leave the rest.
I practice within my scope of practice and abide by the ethics and laws I’m required to be a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas.
That being said, please note: I am not a conventional therapist.
So, while I do own a lot of sweaters - it’s because I’m always cold and not because I am like the therapists you’ve seen on TV.I genuinely love getting to know people and while our sessions won’t be filled with one-liners you will want to share with your social media followers, I will tell you what I think is most helpful to you at the time.
